Semiconductor Equipment Services Equipment Control Services Legacy Systems Services Software & SECS GEM Training RIOC Robotics Check out our Semicon Europa RIOC™ Powerpoint!!! How can I do more with existing legacy process equipment? How can I increase productivity, throughput, or output? How can I extend the lifetime and value of a critical subsystem, yet expand its underlying capabilities to meet new process, industry, or government requirements? How can I improve the control system on mechanically-sound older equipment? RIOC™ ADVANTAGESThe RIOC (Remote Input/Output Computer) System is the answer. The RIOC is an add-on system that offers compatibility with existing process, supervisory, or control systems. The RIOC extends the capabilities and functionality of the system by adding digital and analog I/O, logical alarms, user-defined warnings, and error-handling.
![]() RIOC™ SYSTEM CONFIGURATIONFull Operator Configurability: I/O modules and points are fully configurable on-site and at-will. Add, remove, and configure sensors, switches or flow meters without programming.Graphical User Interface (GUI): The RIOC system provides a menu-driven graphical user interface consisting of System, I/O Monitoring, Error, Event, Setup, SECS/GEM Admin, and Login screens. Hardware Configuration: The RIOC standard package comes complete with a compact-size PC, 10” touchscreen monitor, and Opto-22 SNAP® I/O. The standard configuration provides 12 digital inputs, 4 digital outputs, 2 analog inputs and 2 analog outputs. Other configurations are available including larger touchscreens. Flexible Installation Options: The RIOC supports KVM extenders and Ethernet I/O controllers allowing the separation of the touchscreen, control computer and the I/O system for a better fit in limited legacy equipment space. Security: The RIOC system provides operator and administrative security through encrypted passwords for system operation and modification. Simply name the additional I/O, set sensor limits, and configure the relationship between I/O and alarm reporting using the simple I/O Monitoring screen from the RIOC™ graphical user interface (GUI). Setting I/O values and configuring additional I/O is as simple as entering fields in a spreadsheet.I/O CAPABILITIESThe RIOC™ enables the coupling and conditioning of analog and digital I/O. For example, if a flow valve is shut the analog flow value should be zero. However, you can continue monitoring the flow as an additional level of system security. Should the flow value change from zero, warnings and alarms associated with proper operation of the valve can be configured to alert the system operator.LIMITS, ALARMS & ACTIONSFor each I/O, the RIOC™ provides two upper and two lower limits coupled with time delays for user-defined warnings and alarms. In addition, these levels can be coupled with time delays to create more definitive levels of warnings and alarms. This feature can be used to monitor consumables, maintenance intervals, or cautionary warnings related to system wear. The RIOC™ system enables the operator to use standard alarms and actions or customize the appearance of alarms and the resulting actions to enhance operational compatibility. |
